Day 1- The Arrival. or Lost and Found .

Carol with the bags - we travel light - in fact we shipped the art supplies...

We made it! Thanks to Bob, Carol's husband, who drove us to the airport at 6:30 a.m. we made the plane with time to spare. No hitches on our connection in Atlanta, so on to Albuquerque where we arrived to beautiful weather around1:00 p.m. Then on to National Car Rental, where we had seven cars in our price range to choose from - unfortunately, none were convertibles...so we picked a jazzy little midnight blue Hyundai, got directions to Santa Fe straight from where we were in the parking lot - pretty clear - 2 rights and a left gives us a straight shot to Santa Fe on Highway 25- North.

Guess what we saw 10 minutes later:

Wrong Way

Two artists, definitely right brainers, with little sleep and a 2 hour time change, what do you expect? We got lost again tonight coming back to Trader Joe's. But those were the only times we got lost today. It's only when we drive that we get lost. The good news is that we're staying at the Santa Fe Sage Inn on Cerrillos Road - they have a free shuttle downtown and will pick you up. We LIKE this place!

The International Folk Arts Festival is today and tomorrow on Musuem Hill - We were finally unpacked and ready to go at 4 pm, but decided to wait until tomorrow morning so we'd have more time. We discovered that the artists are staying here at the Sage Inn, too!

We're beginning to settle in - tomorrow afternoon, we go exploring for the places we will paint, like Ghost Ranch. We'll be driving...
